See below for more details.  It is great to see the Acadiana region working together to protect our community&#8217;s citizens.  The email is from Our Lady of Lourdes CEO, Bryan Lee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-subtle-pale-blue-background-color has-background\"><tbody><tr><td>&#8220;Our physician leaders and senior leadership team have been working diligently the past few days with Mayor-President Josh Guillory and health care partners in the Lafayette region to stand up a community screening site for COVID-19.\u00a0<br><br>The site will open tomorrow, March 18th from 9am to 3pm in Lafayette at the Cajundome. The screening will be staffed collaboratively by both hospitals and in compliance with CDC guidelines.\u00a0 \u00a0<br><br>Patients exhibiting symptoms can be referred to the Cajundome to be screened without leaving their vehicle. At this time, medical orders are not necessary for a screening. The goal is to reserve our emergency room resources for patients needing a higher level of care and to limit exposures in the hospitals.<br><br>Event information and the screening tool can be found at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lafayettela.gov\/\">www.lafayettela.gov<\/a>.<br><br>At this time, elective surgical cases will be scheduled as usual. Today, a conference call was held across our statewide ministry with local surgical representation from our MEC to discuss the issue. We are re-evaluating elective cases daily as we continue our preparation and COVID-19 response efforts with clinical leadership.\u00a0<br><br>Physicians remain on the front line of our local response to this virus.
