Telemedicine visits at Hebert Medical Group!
It’s been a little while since I last posted on this blog, but I wanted everyone to know that I and the staff of Hebert Medical Group are safe and well. I hope and pray that all of our patients and their families are also safe and well. It has been quite a busy and anxiety-filled time for everyone on all levels throughout my family, community, our state, and country, along with all of the World. We are not sure when things will begin to resemble what we would consider “ normal”, so we are doing our best in this difficult period to stay focused on the task ahead of us. This means doing our job to provide the best possible care to our patients using whatever technology is available and all of our resources at hand.
In doing so, we have embraced all of the suggestions and rules regarding Social Distancing, in order to protect our patients, with non-emergent conditions, and the staff of Hebert Medical Group. We have efficiently developed a Telemedicine clinic that flows well both for the patients and myself, but will likely still need more tweaks along the way.
Last week we did the entire clinic off-site using a variety of video platforms such as FaceTime( I Phones ) Google Duo ( Android phones ), FaceBook Messenger Chat and Doxy.me which is a web browser-based system that lets you use any type of smartphone or computer that has the capability to video chat. For those patients that only have landlines or flip phones, we are still able to do Telephone visits to care for these patients.
Our goal is to keep our patients informed and on schedule with regard to their treatment plan. When we have all gotten through this Covid 19 Pandemic together, Hebert Medical Group will be ready to move forward with each patient as we had planned before this unforeseen crisis.
If you are currently scheduled for an appointment in the next few weeks, our office will be, ( or already has) contacting you about a telemedicine appointment. To date, I have seen the great majority of these patients myself, and the visits have been engaging, fun and very helpful. We have had a few technical issues, but between the platforms, my staff and motivated patients, we have been able to push through successfully!
We are seeing established patients, new patients, and self-referrals as well as physician/provider referrals during this time of telemedicine. So, if you or someone else is in need of ENT care, please call 337-210-2098 or 337-550-8530, and our staff will be glad to assist.
Remember to be safe, be smart, and continue Social Distancing for your safety and others!
God Bless!
Richard L. Hebert, II, MD
